Three mobile clinics of the Thane Municipal Corporation were inaugurated on Friday by MP Naresh Mhaske and Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao.

The ceremony was held in the premises of the Municipal Headquarters and was attended by Deputy Commissioner (Health) Umesh Birari, Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Prasad Patil, Maternal and Child Welfare Officer Dr. Varsha Sazane, and others. The mobile clinics have been launched for citizens through the joint initiative of the Public Health Department, Piramal Swasth, and Landmark Cares.

These three mobile units aim to provide quality, free healthcare services to residents especially those living in slum areas within the municipal limits. Each unit includes a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, health educator, and driver.

The mobile clinics will operate from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in different wards across the city. They will provide reading glasses to improve near vision and conduct tests such as hemoglobin and blood sugar checks whenever required. Common ailments such as hypertension, diabetes, cold, cough, fever, and diarrhea will be diagnosed promptly and treated free of cost.

Dr. Prasad Patil, Chief Medical Health Officer, stated that the units will also create community awareness about non-communicable disease prevention, management, and healthy lifestyle practices.
