Thane reported 413 new COVID-19 cases and four deaths on Wednesday, January 13, taking the total number of cases in the district up to 2,48,170. There are 4,151 active cases and 2,37,977 patients have completely recovered so far.

The death toll in Thane has now reached 6,042 in the district with four new deaths reported in the last 24 hours. While the recovery rate stands at 95.89 per cent while the mortality rate is 2.43 per cent.

As many as 44,695 COVID-19 cases and 1,193 deaths were reported in Palghar district.

On Wednesday, January 13, Maharashtra recorded 3,556 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 19,78,044. Currently, there are 52,365 active cases in the state. With 3,009 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 18,74,279.

More than 70 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 50,221. While 2,26,599 persons are under home quarantine, 2,496 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 94.75 per cent, and 2.54 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 16,946 new cases, 17,652 recoveries and 198 deaths taking the tally up to 1,05,12,093 on Wednesday, January 13. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 1,01,46,763 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,51,727 in the country. At present, there are 2,13,603 active cases. According to the ICMR, 18,42,32,305 samples have been tested up to January 13.
