Thane to get a new super-speciality hospital; State to demolish old Civil Hospital’s building

Thane’s Civil Hospital’s building will be demolished to make way for a new super-speciality hospital with 574 beds. Meanwhile, the medical staff will be shifted to Mulund’s ESIC Hospital whose building’s repair work will begin in three months. State health minister Dr. Deepak Sawant replied to a question asked by Shiv Sena’s MLA Ravindra Phatak in Maharashtra assembly.

Sawant added that the permission to build a 574-bedded hospital is in progress and approximately the state will invest ₹167.55 Cr for the same.

Sawant also mentioned about a case where the infant was stolen from the hospital on January 14, 2018, adding that the security will be beefed up around the hospital. He added that 16 CCTV cameras have been installed in the premises of the hospital and four security guards have been placed near the entrance.

MLA Ravindra Phatak said that 50 CCTV cameras will also be set up with the help of MLA funds and state government funds as well.
