Last week, a tree fell on a 35-year-old woman in Dadar, leaving her in critical condition. Her family is struggling to meet his treatment expenses running into lakhs of rupees. Romilda D'Souza teaches at Convent Girls High School, Prabhadevi. On September 25, she was on her way to school when a tree located in front of Visawa restaurant near Dadar station fell on her.

Her younger sister Shine Lopez, while talking to a Times of India newspaper, said, this accident is very unbearable for her family, because no one would have imagined that this would happen to their sister. On the day of the accident, there was one more teacher with her who sustained injuries.

D'Souza requires 45 days of rehabilitation which will cost INR 17 lakh and will require continuous rehabilitation at the rehabilitation center and also at home for the next one year, according to a letter issued by the hospital doctor. The cost of all this can be around INR 25 lakh.


Lopez said they need financial help and it is getting difficult for them to afford the medical expenses. Her sister does not have a high-paying job and has a nine-year-old daughter to look after, she added.
