A total of 183 constructions are unauthorised in Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation limits. This information has come out from the ward wise survey conducted by the administration. Therefore, for the first time, the municipal corporation has published the list of such constructions on the website and appealed to the citizens to be careful about it.


Mira Bhayandar is a fast growing city. Therefore, the prices of houses, shops and land are increasing day by day. Apart from this, due to the increasing population, the amenities of the city have also started to increase. Taking advantage of this, some developers and land mafia are doing unauthorised construction in the city. Due to such construction, there is a hindrance in the development of the city and the poor citizens are also being financially cheated.

The Encroachment Department has been established since the establishment of the Municipal Corporation to collect money on unauthorised construction in the city. Apart from this, ward officers have been given separate orders to take action in their ward. But in the last few years, the number of unauthorised constructions in the city has increased due to the neglect of their work by the administrative authorities. Therefore, there is a government order to publish the list of existing constructions through the Municipal Corporation so that common citizens are not cheated. In the past twenty-one years, the administration had turned a blind eye to announcing this list. But after Sanjay Katkar assumed office as the municipal commissioner, this list has been published on the website of the municipality for the first time. Accordingly, it is clear that there are a total 183 constructions in six wards in the city at present.


Penal action on unauthorised constructions

Action is taken against unauthorised construction in Mira Bhayander city through the Municipal Corporation. For this, the manpower and materials of the administration have to be spent. Therefore, a government resolution has been made that this fine should be recovered from the unauthorised builders. Accordingly, Commissioner Sanjay Katkar informed that the fine will be collected henceforth.
