Traffic at the Gopalkrishna Gokhale bridge in Andheri could be affected as the bridge is expected to be shut down for reconstruction. Traffic police officials said that light vehicles will be permitted to use it in a restricted manner until May 31.
Here are the timings:
Light vehicles coming from Andheri West to East can only travel between 6 AM to 3 PM. Vehicles coming from Andheri East to West cannot operate on this bridge during these hours.
Meanwhile, vehicles coming from Andheri East to West can only travel between 3 PM to 11 PM. In this scenario, vehicles coming from Andheri West to East will not be permitted to use this bridge.

Officials said that both lanes of the bridge will be open between 11 PM to 6 AM daily for all except heavy vehicles. However, the route from Sahar Road to Teli Gully Slip road will be closed for all vehicles during the reconstruction.

Some alternative routes to consider:
Light vehicles can travel via Milan flyover at Santacruz and Andheri subway or the Balasaheb Thackeray flyover at Jogeshwari.
Commuters can also access the Rajiv Gandhi flyover from Andheri East to West.
