Ahmedabad-Mumbai Tejas Express skips Andheri halt, WR orders probe

Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Tejas Express is a fully air-conditioned, semi-high speed train connecting Ahmedabad to Mumbai. It has stops at six stations named Nadiad, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Vapi, and Borivali.

The Ahmedabad-Mumbai Tejas Express on Sunday, February 21, skipped its halt at Andheri station, inconveniencing 42 passengers who had to alight there, Western Railway officials said.

The situation was immediately brought to notice of higher officials. The train, operated by railway PSU IRCTC, was then given an unscheduled halt at Dadar so that these passengers could alight. An inquiry has been initiated into the lapse, officials said. Andheri is a temporary two-minute halt for the train till March 29.

"Ahmedabad-Mumbai Tejas Express moved past Andheri today without halting as scheduled halt. The matter was brought to the notice of officials immediately and an unscheduled halt was promptly arranged at Dadar where approximately 42 passengers deboarded. The matter is being inquired," reads a statement by the Western Railway.
