Mumbai – State government, MHADA and BDD chawl residents are at war over redevelopment of BDD chawls. It seems that they will be taking this issue to court.
It goes back when state government declared that while redeveloping BDD chawl they will not consider the residents. This did not go well with residents who decided to go against the government and MHADA. “Coming week, three residents committee will come together and will file a petition,” said Kiran Mane, BDD resident.
He added that not only they were excluded from the rehab issue but neither MHADA nor government asked for their suggestions. He further added that CM himself told that he will redevelop the BDD by taking residents in confidence. However, he has broken the trust and so they are left with no option but to go to court.
