After Diwali, the number of people traveling back to Mumbai and going outside Mumbai for Chhat Puja has increased. The entire railway premises and stations are occupied by passengers with their luggage. Due to this, the passengers are facing difficulties and confusion while traveling. Therefore, in order to control the rush of passengers, the Central Railway Administration has decided to stop the sale of platform tickets at CSMT, LTT, Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Panvel stations in Mumbai division for a few hours every day till November 24.

The number of people going out of the village for Chhat Puja has increased tremendously, hence security has been beefed up to manage the crowd at LTT. The RPF dog squad has been deployed at CSMT, Dadar, LTT station. But in order to reduce the rush of passengers, Central Railway has closed the sale of platform tickets for the next 7 days.

Passengers traveling by express have to get platform tickets to drop them off at the station or for their relatives who come to pick them up from the station. Along with this, many people take a platform ticket to stay on the platform for some time. This increases the rush of passengers in the station. As a result other passengers get delayed in reaching their desired platform, train.
