The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is investing more than INR 5,063 crores on Delhi Noida Direct (DND) flyover, which is likely to improve the connectivity of Mumbai and Delhi.

According to reports, an elevated flyway will run through the Delhi Noida Direct (DND) Flyover to Jaitpur and ultimately to Faridabad. The highway will be connected with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. This will shorten the distance between Mumbai and Gurugram too.

The expressway was originally intended to run from Sohna to Mumbai, but the roads ministry and NHAI changed the route to connect Delhi with the nation's financial hub. Subsequently, a different expansion was built to offer access to the future Jewar airport from the road as well.

The third package will open this week. "We will open the stretch to the public in the next few days. This will provide another link to the expressway," said an NHAI official. "We are confident of completing the stretch in the first quarter of 2024. This will also help decongest the Ashram-Faridabad-Ballabhgarh stretch of NH-44."

The DND flyway will be connected to Sohna, which will ease the distance for the travellers coming from Mumbai. It will be a 6 lane corridor that will be build in 3 packages by April 2024.
