In a piece of good news for people looking for jobs, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) is to have mega recruitment of 7,000 posts.

According to sources, the posts of Sub Center Assistant and Electrical Assistant will be filled in this recruitment process. Moreover, applications are being invited for a total of 7,000 vacancies for the post of Sub-Station Assistant, Electrical Assistant. In addition, 5,000 posts of Electrical Assistant and 2,000 posts of Sub-Station Assistant are to be filled.

For the post of Electrical Assistant, it is necessary to pass the 12th standard examination and pass the ITI (Electron/Telegraph) or Electron/Telegraph Diploma. For the post of Sub-Center Assistant, one has to pass the 12th standard examination and qualify as ITI (Electron/Telegraph) or Electron/Telegraph Diploma Pass, Experience - 2 years. Meanwhile, the age limit for candidates is 18 to 27 years. The recruitment process has started on February 18 and the last date to apply is March 18. On the other hand, the MSEDCL, through a recently released notice, has directed all the field offices to recover the arrears or immediately cut off the power supply of the customers' account if their bill payments are pending. Reports released earlier stated that at the end of December 2020, the state has total arrears of INR 63,740 crores, however, this has worsened the financial condition of MSEDCL. Updates reveal that if the customer does not pay the electricity bill, MSEDCL will have no choice but to cut off the power supply.
