Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) recently announced that 100 per cent excavation for Hutatma Chowk station in Fort is completed. With this, Package 1 is achieved with 100 per cent excavation for its all 4 stations. The three other Metro 3 (Colaba-Bandra-Seepz) that have completed 100 per cent excavation are Cuffe Parade, Vidhan Bhavan and Churchgate.

Notably, a four-member committee was set up on December 11, a day after Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress government took charge to find an alternative site for Metro 3 (Colaba-Bandra-Seepz) car shed. The committee had submitted a report stating that they can consider Jogeshwari as an alternative along with Kanjurmarg site.
Along with finding an alternative, the panel will also examine if MMRC had followed due procedure while felling 2,100 trees for the Metro-3 car shed construction at Aarey.
