Mumbai - Chief executive officer of MHADA, Vishwas Patil, has issued show cause notices to 114 builders who have not started slum rehabilitation projects even after passing of 10 long years. The prominent builders who were issued notices include Suvidha Builders, Lakdawala Developers, Akruti Nirman Limited, Bombay Slum Redevelopment etc. They are being asked to give causes for not starting the work, informed the sources in the SRA. The SRA has accorded permissions to 1,512 projects. But some of the builders given permissions have not started the work of their projects even after 10 years. This had forced the slum-dwellers to hit the streets to demand action in this regard. Finally, the SRA has taken action. Allotted works to the concerned builders may get scrapped, it is being said.
