Just days after the decision to chop off 2,700 trees at Aarey Colony came out, two members of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) Tree Authority have decided to quit.
Aarey Colony is a green area in Mumbai and this approval has, sparked massive outrage. The activist that have been fighting for the cause have been livid with this decision. They took to social media to express their anger. Even on ground protests have intensified over the weekend. Citizens of Mumbai made a human chain to protest against the cutting. It was a 3KM chain comprising of 1500 citizens from all walks of life.

Many Bollywood celebrities also joined in the protest including Sahoo-star Shraddha Kapoor. BMC's Tree Authority recently approved the cutting of over 2,700 trees in Aarey Colony in order to make way for the prestigious Metro-3 car shed.
