The road from Kajupada and Chena village to Gaimukh Ghat is in extremely poor condition, causing major inconvenience to commuters. To ensure monsoon-resilient repairs, Thane Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao has directed the use of rapid hardening concrete for immediate restoration of the ghat road.

The stretch from Fountain Hotel to Gaimukh Ghat, heading towards Thane, is especially damaged. Despite repeated patchwork using gravel and bitumen grouting, the road continues to deteriorate, leading to traffic slowdowns and vehicles moving in the wrong direction. According to DCP (Traffic) Pankaj Shirsat, this congestion often affects the Mumbai–Ahmedabad Highway up to Chinchoti and even Mira Road.

Officials from the Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation explained that the original road foundation has been eroded, making regular repairs ineffective. To address this, City Engineer Prashant Sonagra suggested using rapid hardening concrete, which sets quickly and allows repairs without full road closure.

Commissioner Rao instructed that the Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation immediately trial this method on a small section of road. If successful, it could be extended throughout the ghat stretch to improve traffic flow and reduce public distress. He emphasised coordinating with local police to carry out the work within four hours, using all available resources.

Additionally, the meeting addressed delays in the merging of the service road and main road along Ghodbandar Road due to monsoon conditions. In some areas, gaps exist between the original and new road surfaces.

The Commissioner instructed MMRDA to conduct an immediate survey and level out inconsistencies, and directed the PWD to urgently complete road repairs at Kasarvadavali signal, Owla signal, and Kapurbawdi flyover.
