Billionaire Gautam Adani is set to revolutionise Dharavi, the largest slum in Asia, into a contemporary city centre. The project has been approved by the Maharashtra state government. With over 10 lakh people needing new accommodations, the project will be the world's largest urban renewal scheme.

Currently, Dharavi is full of extreme congestion and the absence of basic needs like running water and proper sanitation. But the project will change this. The approved proposal will involve an investment of USD 619 million in the 625-acre area.

The primary objective of this is to provide the residents of Dharavi with access to essential utilities such as gas, water, and drainage. Additionally, it will introduce better healthcare facilities and other services to enhance the quality of life.

It represents a decades-old proposal to use the potential of valuable land and improve living conditions for Dharavi's inhabitants. Adani Transmission is already playing a crucial role in providing electricity to the bustling city of Mumbai.

Despite the Group's impressive track record, it has attracted controversy. Hindenburg Research's allegations led to a downturn in the group's primary equities' value. Later, the group's stock value witnessed a substantial increase of approximately $50 billion.
