Mumbai - “As many as 38 Marathi medium schools have been closed during the Shiv Sena-BJP rule in the BMC though these parties claim to work for the Marathi people,” alleged Congress’ high-profile MP, Shashi Tharur, here on Monday. Tharoor released Congress party’s ‘Charge Sheet’ against Shiv Sena-BJP combine that ruled Asia’s largest civic body for last 20 years. He also criticised the current ruling parties in the BMC and said that they failed to develop Mumbai even as a city that has a budget greater than that of a small state. Now, Mumbaikars have to think for another option, he pointed out. He demanded third party audit of the BMC so that clear picture emerges before the public. Meanwhile, City Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam claimed that efforts are on to end differences and infighting in the city Congress unit.
