After resigning from Congress, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan is believed to be joining BJP. He will join BJP on Tuesday February 13. Sources have said that along with him, 10 to 12 Congress MLAs will also join BJP.


The induction ceremony will be held in Mumbai in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule. Therefore, there is a possibility that Congress will have to face big trouble in Maharashtra. For the last few days there was discussion that Ashok Chavan is joining BJP. On Monday 12 February, he resigned from the primary membership and legislature of Congress. These discussions gained momentum.

Chavan will join BJP on February 13 and will be accompanied by 10 to 12 Congress MLAs. Ashok Chavan has held the post of senior minister in the Congress (Aghadi) government in Maharashtra. He was also the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for two years. His father Shankarrao Chavan has also held the post of Chief Minister of Maharashtra twice from Congress. This is the only father-son pair in Maharashtra politics to have been Chief Minister.
