BJP quashes rebels, backs ally RPI

Mumbai - The Bharatiya Janta Party has allied with RPI(Athawale) in the BMC elections. BJP gave 19 seats to RPI (A), but BJP leaders started fighting for the nomination on six seats. Six Seats which were reserved for RPI (A) includes Ward number - 55 (Aarey Colony, Goregaon East), Ward - 135 (Mandala Mankhurd), Ward - 139 (Govandi), Ward - 142 (Sathaye Nagar, Govandi), Ward - 152 (Siddharth Colony, Chembur) , Ward - 195 (BDD Chawl, Worli).
Candidates who were nominated to contest from these seats include - Swati Yadav, Ashwini Pawar, Chandrakant Nyaynirgune, Geetanjali Sathe, Sunil Bansode and Sharad Shirishkar. RPI Chief Ramdas Athawale wrote a letter to CM Devendra Fadnavis in regard to the matter, to which all those BJP leaders were asked to back out. RPI (A) was given the permission to kickstart their campaign in the respective wards for municipal elections. Ashish Shelar, BJP Mumbai Unit President has written a letter and did send it to all the concerned wards, informed RPI (A) leader Gautam Sonawane.
