Maharashtra to get 225 projects worth over INR 2 lakh crores: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, November 3, addressed the employment fair organised by the Maharashtra Government through a video message. The Prime Minister launched the concept of employment fair at the central level on Dhantrayodashi day. This was the beginning of the campaign to provide 10 lakh jobs at the central government level. Since then, the Prime Minister has addressed employment fairs of Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir governments. 

Looking at the organization of Rojgar Mela held in such a short period of time, it is clear that "Maharashtra Government is moving with a firm resolve to provide employment to the youth. I am happy that such employment fairs will expand further in Maharashtra in the coming time”. Modi said thousands of appointments will be made in Maharashtra's home department and the state's rural development department.

The Prime Minister reiterated that the country is working towards the goal of a developed India in which the role of the youth will play an important role in the golden age. "In changing times the nature of jobs is changing rapidly, the government is also continuously creating opportunities for different types of jobs." Mudra Yojana is providing collateral free loans to youth and INR 20 Lakh Crore loans have already been disbursed. Similarly, the start-up and MSME sector is being heavily supported. He also said that the youth of Maharashtra have benefited from this.

"The most important thing about the government's efforts is that these opportunities for employment and self-employment are being made available equally to Dalit-backward, tribal, general class and women," he stressed. The Prime Minister mentioned the assistance of INR 5 lakh crore to INR 8 crore women who are affiliated to self-help groups.


"Record investments by the government in infrastructure, information technology and other sectors across the country today are creating new employment opportunities." Regarding Maharashtra, the Prime Minister informed that the Central Government has approved about 225 projects worth over INR 2 lakh crores for the state. Railway projects worth INR 75 thousand crore and modern road projects worth INR 50 crore have been approved. "Work on these projects is in progress or soon to start", he said. "When the government spends so much on infrastructure, it  creates millions of new employment opportunities," he concluded.
