Long time allies BJP and Shiv Sena had a major split in 2019, and Shiv Sena later formed a Maha Vikas Aghadi government with new partners, namely Congress and Nationalist Congress Party. The ex-cheif minister, and leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis on Monday hit back at the current goverment and termed it as a "horror film" and even added that [it/ thier term] will end very soon".

His comment was in reaction to senior Congress minister Ashok Chavan's remarks to his party workers on Sunday where he termed the current government of Maharashtra as "multi-starrer film" which will complete its full term.

Fadnavis was quick to counter these claims with the saying that he felt that the Maha Vikas Aghadi government was "not a multi-starrer, but a horror film, and the horror show will end soon".

He did not stop at that and even went on to mock the MVA's Common Minimum Programme, as he asked whether the current Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray had presented a bouquet to interim Congress President Sonia Gandhi. Furthermore, Fadnavis demanded to know "why the Sena is part of the government" when the Congress has no faith in them, and termed it as "helplessness" of the (Sena) to stick to power.

The Uddhav Thackeray government has completed two months in the state. In the last couple of months they have retracted some of the major decisions taken by the Fadnavis government. One of the major ones was putting a stay on the metro work in Aarey area.

Senior leaders from all three parties such as Eknath Shinde from Shiv Sena, NCP's Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, senior leader Nawab Malik and Congress's Balasaheb Thorat have reiterated that the MVA is working towards the development of the state and sticking smoothly on its track as laid in the CMP.

One of the major things mentioned in the CMP was the introduction of Rs 10 Thali. This was introdcued on pilot basis by the government from 26th January.
