After Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget on February 1, the opposition began heavily criticising it. Meanwhile, state opposition leader Ajit Pawar too criticised the Modi government over the budget and coined it as  an 'Chunavi Jumla' (election stunt). He made the statement while talking to the reporters in Pune.

The Modi government has presented the budget keeping nine states in consideration. In the upcoming Karnataka elections, INR 3.5 cr have been allotted there. Maharashtra lies next to  Karnataka state, then Maharashtra should also have recievd the same amount of money, said Ajit Pawar.

The central government gets most of the money from Maharashtra. At such  time, the central government should give more money to Maharashtra, added Pawar. Referring to Mumbai, he said the issues of metro, transport, slum etc. are pending today. There has been a lot of urbanisation here. He criticised that no announcement was made in the interest of Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, Jitendra Awhad made a sensational claim and stated that he will be arrested any time soon. Ajit Pawar also commented on this. “Two cases have already been registered against Jitendra Awhad. In politics, sometimes someone is in power and sometimes in the opposition party. No one should ever cause anyone trouble out of political hatred." he said.
