This election season, celebrities have joined major political parties and some are contesting the Lok Sabha polls. We asked the citizens whether it is okay for public figures from the entertainment and sports industry to participate in active politics. From Urmila Matondkar joining Congress to Sunny Deol joining BJP, people have mixed opinions on celebrities joining politics.
Some of the voters suggested that every person, be it a celebrity or a common man, has the right to contest elections. Whereas some of them stated that the celebrities are here as a part of the 'lot'.
Some voters even hinted that a celebrity has no idea about how politics works and so, there is a need of a capable politician rather than a glamorous celebrity.
