Maratha rally: Allies fight over banners

Parel – On one hand Maratha Muk Morcha samiti has been organising silent marches across the State for their demands while on the other hand, local Shiv Sena and BJP units are busy in poster war. The Shiv Sena had put up a banner in Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar road in F-South Ward on the eve of the Maratha bike rally. But Shiv Sena banners were not seen in the morning and there were banners of the BJP. Shiv Sena corporator Kishori Pednekar said, “It is an attempt of the BJP government to put the Shiv Sena in bad books. They (BJP) have removed our banners and put up theirs only to bag the credit.” Meanwhile, BJP’s Sewree Assembly segment’s media head Brahmadev Atkari said, “We have put up the banner where we found the space. We haven’t removed banner of any party. Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has extended support for the Marathas’ demands. We do not believe in such type of politics.”
