Ahead of the upcoming 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Raj Thackeray has initiated his election campaign while attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in state and centre.
Raj Thackeray on Sunday slammed the BJP government for constantly focusing on Article 370 (special status to Jammu and Kashmir) amid the economic slowdown.
While addressing an election rally at Magathane in Borivali, Thackeray stated that nearly two crore people have been unemployed followed by the collapse of industries and banks.
What is the use of Article 370 for Maharashtra? The state is facing an economic slowdown and the Modi government has failed to handle the economic crisis. Thus, they are talking about Article 370 to emotionally woo voters while sidelining the key development issues,” said Raj Thackeray.

Talking about the Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative (PMC) bank crisis, the MNS chief criticised the central government saying that the people have lost their life savings and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has refused to take any responsibility of the depositors.
