The battle for local body elections is underway in the state, and many leaders are switching parties. Amid this, there is talk that a senior BJP MP is unhappy. This MP has reportedly refused an important post, which is why his displeasure has come to light. The MP in question is Kirit Somaiya. He was appointed as a member of the 144-member Mumbai BJP committee, but he declined the position, leading to speculation about his dissatisfaction.

Is Kirit Somaiya upset?
Somaiya shared a post on social media stating that the Mumbai BJP President appointed him to the 144-member committee. He wrote, “Thank you. But I have declined it. I will continue working with greater energy as an ordinary party worker. I have informed them that this is what I will do. We will achieve the goal of making Mumbai free of illegal Bangladeshis.” This has triggered various discussions.

Previously, Somaiya had led a major campaign in the state alleging that Bangladeshi nationals were being issued fake birth certificates. He found several documents and claimed he was working in the state’s interest. It is believed he may have expressed that he does not want any post and wishes to focus on working for the party.

Differences within Mahayuti?
Commenting on internal disagreements within the Mahayuti alliance, Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that differences among leaders can exist, but there are no ideological differences. “If there is a spark, it can be addressed. If some people feel that we have many disagreements and conflicts among ourselves, that is not true. Differences may occur, but there are no differences in ideology.”
