Mumbai – “If I have to leave the Congress party, I would do it openly,” said former MP Nilesh Rane after resigning from the post of general secretary of the party on Tuesday.

Rane criticised the working style of MPCC president Ashok Chavan. He said that he had been demanding to change the district president of Ratnagiri but Chavan has done nothing in this regard. As activists were getting frustrated, I had to take this decision, he added.

Rane further said that he will continue to be the Congress worker giving a full stop to discussions of him joining other parties.
