The state education minister Vinod Tawde told the legislative assembly that nearly 70 schools of Indian Education Society (IES) are flouting the school rules by taking more capitation fees and carrying out construction work and repairs without inviting tenders. He said that he has received complaints of the same and hence he has decided that the state will carry out a forensic audit of these schools.

Shiv Sena group leader Anil Parab raised the question against the owners of Indian Education Society in the legislative assembly mentioning that the IES schools charge heavy fees, threaten parents who complain and they also threaten their staff. In such a scenario, will the state carry out a forensic audit of these schools, asked Parab. Replying to him, Tawde confirmed about the forensic audit.

Mumbai’s Education Deputy Director was instructed to investigate the allegations of ongoing fee hike in IES schools. Accordingly, the education inspector, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Education Department has prepared a report of the same. Along with this, petitions of salaries denied to teachers, the dispute between teachers are pending with the High Court. Once the HC takes the decision on the same, we will take action,” Vinod Tawde, Education minister.
