Mumbai - Owaisi bothers of Hyderabad seem to be the favourite children of controversy as they continue to be in limelight for one or the other reason. In a meeting of their party (MIM) held at Nagpada on Sunday, MP Asasuddin Owaisi alleged that the BMC has been neglecting the Muslim dominated areas in the city and the civic body does not provide sufficient funds to carry out developmental works in these areas. He had also demanded sanctioning of the funds on the basis of Muslim population in the area. This statement of Owaisi has attracted the attention of his political opponents as the BJP has registered a complaint against him with the State Election Commission. The city BJP unit has urged the SEC to conduct an enquiry into this controversial statement of Owaisi claiming that he instigated the Muslims and irresponsibly made an illegal statement.
