Mumbai- Demonetisation hasn't taken of the sheen in this BMC elections where prospective contestants are asked to shell out money. Shiv Sena candidate Manoj Singh has alleged that SS ward president and corporator of ward no. 135 asked him for Rs. 20 lakhs for a ticket. He has blamed ward president Arjun Shinde, corporator Shantaram Patil and divisional head Rajendra Raut of demanding money. “I paid Rs. 10 lakhs in advance and the remaining money Rs. 5 lakhs I paid in cheque,” said corporator Manoj Singh. If these allegations are true, this will send a wrong message among the candidates and voters. Moreover allegations against a ruling party will give fodder to the other parties to cash in on this controversy.
Manoj Singh has written a letter to the SS president Uddhav Thackeray regarding the same .
