Sample this. BJP's woman candidate Malti Patil was all set to contest the civic elections from ward number - 207 in Byculla. However, she suffered a setback when the party offered a ticket to another female candidate - Surekha Lokhande.
This however did not deter Malti Patil's decision of contesting the elections. She has in fact decided to fight as an independent candidate. On Friday, she filed her nomination forms at the designated centre at Elphinstone College. Will Patil's willpower fetch her the coveted seat? The pink battle has just started.
