On October 30, Pawar announced that he will join the Congress' Rahul Gandhi-led 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' on November 8, a day after it enters Maharashtra through Nanded.

According to an official statement released by the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), veteran politician Sharad Pawar has been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai after his health deteriorated today, October 31.

Pawar's health had remained critical for the last few days, hence Pawar will be in the hospital for the next three days .

However, he is likely to be discharged on November 2. After that, he will participate in party’s camps that will be held in Shirdi on November 4-5, the statement further mentioned.

"According to the request made by the state general secretary of the party Shivajirao Garje through an official letter, all office bearers and workers of the Nationalist Congress Party should not gather outside the hospital," it further added.

Besides, a day earlier, on October 30, Pawar announced that he will join the Congress' Rahul Gandhi-led 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' on November 8, a day after it enters Maharashtra through Nanded.

Confirming the development, Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole said Pawar has accepted the invite to be part of the nationwide march.

Patole said Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) chief Uddhav Thackeray has also been invited but the latter is yet to confirm his presence.

He said Gandhi will address rallies in Nanded and Shegaon in Buldhana as part of the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra’s entry in Nanded coincides with the completion of 75 years of liberation of Marathwada from the rule of the (Hyderabad) Nizam. He said the crowds in Maharashtra for the yatra will be among the biggest.
