Petty quarrel leads to arrest of 10 BJP-Sena workers

Ghatkopar – Chirag Nagar police have arrested 10 BJP and Shiv Sena activists for attacking each other here on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. 

According to information, rickshaw driver Sunil Khanwilkar who is a BJP activist had alighted a passenger at around 1:30 am on Tuesday night. Some money fell down from his pocket and he was instructed by some Sena workers to pick up the fallen money. This resulted into a brawl that ultimately turned ugly. The incident took place near Bhateshwar temple on R V Kadam Road in Ghatkopar area. 

Chirag Nagar police have arrested 10 persons under relevant sections of the law and some more arrests are likely to be made in this case. The arrested accused include Pravin Vichare, husband of Prachi Vichare who was BJP’s ward no. 128 candidate in BMC polls. Senior police inspector Vyankat Patil is investigating further.
