Mulund- The NCP released its list of probable candidates last week, upsetting some and delighting some others.
One such, Abhijeet Chavan, a potential candidate, seems unhappy as he is now left with no ward to contest from. There was an unspoken fight between Chavan and NCP corporator Nandkumar Vaiti, and the latter appears to have won this round. Vaiti’s Ward no. 105 has been reserved for women and he has now been given a ticket for ward no. 106. Abhijeet Chavan who was fielding for ward no. 106 as well, feels let down. Chavan is a member of the BMC’s Tree Authority committee. “I will adhere to what the party decides. I was offered other wards but I refused,” he says.
Does this mean Chavan will make a pitch for a ticket from another party's platform? Stay tuned to this space for updates.
