BJP-MNS: Hand in glove?

BJP-MNS: Hand in glove?
SHARES

Mumbai – Speculation is rife in the political circles whether the NCP will form an alliance with the BJP or the Shiv Sena will ‘drive’ the railway engine of the MNS. These discussions are heating the political atmosphere after Shiv Sena’s breaking off its alliance with the BJP for the BMC elections.
After the latest political developments, rumours of BJP forging an alliance with Sharad Pawar-led NCP are looking possible. The BJP has vowed to fight all 227 seats of the BMC alone as a part of its ‘Shat Pratishat BJP’ drive. As the Congress is not ready to form an alliance with its erstwhile partner NCP, they may gladly accept the BJP proposal for a tie-up.
On the other hand, Raj Thackeray-led MNS may also join hands with the Shiv Sena though the MNS has clarified it as only a rumour. It is being said that the MNS is waiting for alliance formation either with the BJP or the Sena. The doubts regarding BJP’s hidden alliance with the MNS are also being spoken about. BJP spokesperson Niranjan Shetty clarified their stand on MNS alliance. "MNS took the decision then and has taken the same this election to contest 227 seated. We are not discussing this with MNS. MNS is ready for alliance but we are not,” said Niranjan Shetty, BJP spokesperson. Meanwhile, Diwakar Raote expressed his opinions about MNS. “Is MNS still the game? We will have to check,” said Diwakar Raote, state transport minister.
Both the parties are alleged to be hand in glove as they may field weak candidates against each other’s strong candidates in the BMC elections.
