BDD residents have filed a petition against MHADA and the government for lackadaisical attitude towards BDD chawl residents regarding their redevelopment of chawls. They filed a petition last week and now are waiting for some breakthrough.

BDD residents of Worli, Naigaon, and Delisle road are alleging that state has fooled them under the pretext of the redevelopment of chawls. “Whenever redevelopment is about to happen, the state takes 70% of resident’s views but in our case, that was not done. And so Akhil BDD Chawl Bhadekaru Hakk Sanrakshan Samiti decided to file a petition,” said Kiran Mane, Samiti’s member.

Meanwhile, prior 28 February, MHADA had asked for tenders but received only two tenders and so the tender process was postponed. This enraged the BDD residents more.
