The Benchmark indices ended at record closing high on June 3 backed by strong buying in infra, oil and gas, metal and realty stocks.

At close, the Sensex was up 382.95 points or 0.74 per cent at 52,232.43 and the Nifty was up 114.20 points or 0.73 per cent at 15,690.40.

About 2136 shares have advanced, 973 shares declined and 134 shares remain unchanged.

On the Nifty 50 index, Titan Company (6.65 per cent), ONGC (4.03 per cent), Eicher Motors (3.36 per cent), Larsen (2.71 per cent) and Axis Bank (1.85 per cent) were the top gainers for the day, while IndusInd Bank (-2.16 per cent), Wipro (-0.73 per cent), Cipla (-0.68 per cent), Dr. Reddy’s Labs (-0.56 per cent) and Bajaj Auto (-0.51 per cent) were the top losers for the day.

On the sectoral front, except Nifty Pharma (-0.26 per cent) all other sectoral indices ended in green. Nifty Realty (3.79 per cent), Nifty Consumption (1.27 per cent) and Nifty Infra (1.15 per cent) were the top per forming sectors for the day.

The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gained 1.04 per cent each.

Author’s View: 15,700 – 15,720 will act as a resistance zone for Nifty. If this level is decisively broken we may say a continuation in the uptrend, else we might see a correction Nifty correcting till 15,450 – 15,500 level.
