The benchmark indices ended at a fresh All Time High. Real Estate stocks outperformed.
At close, the Sensex was up 221.52 points or 0.42 per cent at 52773.05 and the Nifty was up 57.40 points or 0.36 per cent at 15869.30.
About 1894 shares have advanced, 1256 shares declined and 139 shares remain unchanged.
On the Nifty 50 index, Asian Paints (3.13 per cent), Axis Bank (1.99 per cent), ICICI Bank (1.60 per cent), HDFC Life (1.59 per cent), HUL (1.16 per cent) were the top gainers for the day, while Divi’s Labs (-1.71 per cent), Coal India (-1.38 per cent), Bajaj Finserv (-1.07 per cent), Hindalco (-1.00 per cent) and Dr. Reddy’s Labs (-0.92 per cent) were the top losers for the day.
On the sectoral front, except Nifty Metal, Nifty Pharma, Nifty Energy and Nifty PSU Bank all other sectoral indices ended in green. Nifty Realty (1.32 per cent), Nifty Bank (0.85 per cent) and Nifty FMCG (0.73 per cent) were the top performing sectors for the day.
The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gained 0.60 per cent and 0.44 per cent respectively.
Author’s View: Nifty finally managed to hit 15,900 level today. 15,900 – 16,100 is a strong resistance zone, while 15,750 – 15,700 is a good support for Nifty. Traders can use buy on dip strategy to trade in this zone.
