Nifty Ends Below 15,850, Sensex Dips 123 Points

Nifty and Sensex ended lower after a volatile trading session on July 26.

At close, the Sensex was down 123.53 points or 0.23 per cent at 52,852.27 and the Nifty was down 31.50 points or 0.20 per cent at 15,824.50.

About 1791 shares have advanced, 1488 shares declined and 151 shares are unchanged.

On the Nifty 50 index, SBI Life Insurance (2.49 per cent), Bajaj Finserv (2.45 per cent), Hindalco (2.12 per cent), Divis Labs (2.00 per cent) and UltraTech Cement (1.69 per cent) were the top gainers for the day, while JSW Steel (-1.81 per cent), Wipro (-1.45 per cent), Reliance (-1.37 per cent), SBI (-1.31 per cent) and M&M (-1.30 per cent) were the top losers for the day.

On the sectoral front, Nifty Energy index lost 1 per cent, while Bank, Auto and PSU Bank indices also ended in red. Metal, IT and Pharma indices ended in green.

The BSE Midcap index ended flat while Smallcap index ended 0.3 per cent lower.

Author’s View: The expected levels of the market are likely to be in the range of 15800 and 15950, and it is going to be crucial for the short-term market scenario to sustain above the 15800 Nifty50 Index level. Technical indicator suggests, a volatile movement in the market in a small range.
