Nifty Ends Below 15,850, Sensex Dips 190 Points

Nifty & Sensex ended lower on June 28 after touching a new All Time High.

At close, the Sensex was down 189.45 points or 0.36 per cent at 52,735.59 and the Nifty was down 45.70 points or 0.29 per cent at 15,814.70.

About 1826 shares have advanced, 1420 shares declined and 147 shares are unchanged.

On the Nifty 50 index, Dr. Reddys Labs (1.79 per cent), Hindalco (1.70 per cent), Tata Steel (1.61 per cent), Divis Labs (1.55 per cent) and Tech Mahindra (1.43 per cent) were the top gainers for the day, while HDFC Life (-4.10 per cent), Titan Company (-1.47 per cent), TCS (-1.30 per cent), Shree Cements (-1.18 per cent) and Coal India (-1.04 per cent) were the top losers for the day.

On the sectoral front, Banking, IT Infra and Energy sectors ended in red, while Metal, Pharma, Realty, Auto and FMCG ended in green.

The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gained 0.40 per cent and 0.46 per cent respectively.

Author’s View: Nifty managed to close above its important support level at 15,750, which is a positive sign for short term. Fresh long positions can be initiated for a target of 16,000 – 16,100.
