In an attempt to delve deep into Hemant Karkare's persona, his eldest daughter Jui Navare penned a heartfelt memoir titled 'A Daughter's Memoir' which is published by Crossword and was released on Monday, November 25 at Prerna Hall of Police Club. 

A Computer Engineer who is currently based in Boston, Navare is the eldest of her three siblings. On being asked about the faulty bulletproof jacket that led to her father's death, she said, "Some questions will always be left unanswered, and this is one of them". She further said, "this book deals more with his persona and not just that unfortunate night. It serves as an inspiration to everyone as my father was professional, impartial and diligent".

Notably, former head of the Anti Terror Squad (ATS) Hemant Karkare was seen wearing a bulletproof jacket while heading towards his vehicle. He was shot down by terrorists and after his body was recovered, there were bullet wounds on his chest. The bulletproof jacket has been missing since then. 

She concluded by saying, "he was a positive role model, an inspiration. After reading the book, you will receive the courage to never give up in life and know what a great man my father was.”
