4-Year-Old Child in Vasai Assault Case Survived After Swift Medical Action and Expert Care

In a deeply moving story of survival and medical excellence, a 4-year-old boy from Vasai who was brutally assaulted and brought in with life-threatening injuries has made a remarkable recovery, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the critical care team at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road.

The child was admitted in a critical condition, presenting with decreased sensorium, extreme drowsiness, and a near-comatose state. A CT scan revealed multiple intracranial hemorrhages, indicating severe brain trauma. Understanding the gravity of the situation, the pediatric critical care team immediately initiated advanced, life-saving treatment.

We promptly started anti-edema therapy to control brain swelling and anticonvulsants to prevent seizures. Continuous monitoring and timely interventions played a crucial role in stabilizing his condition.”

During treatment, the child also showed reduced strength in his right upper limb, a neurological impact of the injury. A structured rehabilitation plan, including physiotherapy, was initiated. Over time, his neurological status steadily improved, with visible recovery in consciousness and responsiveness.
