Central Railway gave away “General Manager’s Safety Award” to nine staffers (three from Bhusaval Division, three from Nagpur Division and one each from Mumbai, Pune and Solapur Division) in appreciation of their alertness during duty, their contribution in averting untoward incidents and ensuring safety in train operations in a function held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus 
(CSMT), Mumbai on October 4, 2021. The award consists of a Medal, commendation certificate, a citation of exemplary safety work and a cash award of INR 2,000/-. 

Safety category staff of Central Railway were selected for their alertness and prompt action to prevent possible train accidents while on duty during the month of September 2021.

Tanaji R Patil, Guard (Goods), Pune alerted the driver about sparking in 16th wagon found to be break binding and could avoid a possible accident
 
Kumar Durgesh, Loco Pilot (Goods), Solapur while working on goods train noticed a jerk and informed the concerned, it was found a broken flash but weld.

Mohnish Rangari, Keyman, Ajni Nagpur noticed a hot axel in one of the wagons while exchanging the signal and immediately stopped the train by showing a red signal.

V A Karpate, Deputy Station Manager, Khapri noticed a hot axel in the 8th wagon while exchanging the signal and immediately stopped the train and the wagon was removed.
 
Prashant Kumbhare, Deputy Station Manager, Bhusaval while working in the cabin noticed an unusual sound in the goods train and informed the concerned. On examination, it was found rail fracture.
 
Yogesh Sarwan, Track Maintainer IV, Devlali, Bhusaval and Manjur Alam, Track Maintainer IV, Devlali, Bhusaval during night patrolling noticed that one truck breaking the wall of ROB was hanging on the railway track and immediately informed the same to all concerned and also stopped incoming train to avoid untoward incident.
 
Sanjay Shankar Chavan, Loco pilot, Kurla Mumbai while working on 02978 Dn noticed a rail fracture in the Kasu-Nagothane section and stopped the train by applying emergency brakes and avoid possible untoward incidents.  

Amit Pardeshi, Junior Engineer (carriage and wagon) for noticing the lower spring of a coach in tilting condition in Balharshah yard, Nagpur Division.

B.K. Dadabhoy, Additional General Manager and Shri Alok Singh, Principal Chief Safety Officer, Mukul Jain, Principal Chief Operations Manager, A.K. Gupta, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, Ashwani Saxena, Principal Chief Engineering, Gopal Chandra, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer and other Principal Heads of Departments of Central Railway were present on the occasion and Divisional Railway Managers of all the Divisions joined the event virtually. All COVID-19 protocols were followed during the meeting.
