Located on the shores of the Arabian Sea, Juhu beach is one of the most popular beaches in Mumbai known for its wide range of delicious street food.

The area is widely famous for being the place famous celebrities reside in like Shah rukh Khan, however, people who visit the place also indulge in activities like jogging, skipping, cycling and even attend Yoga sessions

The beach happens to be a popular tourist attraction throughout the year and is also a sought after destination for shooting films. Moreover, the popular Ganesh Chaturthi festival happens here where thousands of devotees arrive in grand processions, carrying idols of the Lord Ganesh of various sizes, to be immersed in the sea at the beach.

In addition, to promote tourism and to create employment opportunities for locals, the Mumbai Maritime Board had earlier decided to beautify the beaches from Mumbai to Konkan and commenced water sports at Juhu, Gurgaon, Versova, Marve, Vasai Jetty and Bhayander. Tenders were invited for the same, which was then finalised and Juhu Beach saw the light of the day.

On the other hand, the Juhu Citizen Welfare Group is the outcome of many years of activism by Juhu residents who have been associated with other NGOs. It was formed in April 2002 (The Juhu Seatizen) and later formalised in August 2003 with its own monthly publication called The Juhu Citizen.[8] Officially registered in March 2004, it now comprises voluntary members invited from NGOs in the K-West Municipal Ward of North-West Mumbai.
