A stranded Orphan boy from Uttar Pradesh found by the loco pilot at Somthane station near Panvel was reunited with his family through special efforts and with the help of Social Media.

On July 11, 2022, while on duty at Somthane Station, R K Saini, Loco Pilot, found an 12-year-old boy at Somthane station in a panic state. Same thing was informed to Station Master, Somthane. They had talk with the boy who told them that his name is Durgesh Nishadh and he is 12 years old, staying at Banda, Uttar Pradesh. Then, Saini took the custody of that boy with the permission of Panvel RPF. He took the boy with him at his residence and offered food, clothes and stay. During this period, Saini posted a message on social media regarding the boy to find his family. On July 12 Saini received a call from Banda and through that call traced the contact of the boy’s grand parents. Later, Missing Durgesh spoke through video call with his grandparents. On July 13 Durgesh's paternal uncle came to receive the boy and Saini handed over the boy in presence of RPF, Dadar and Representatives of CHILD HELPLINE at RPF Dadar office.

Saini, a sportsman represented Central Railways at All India Inter Railway Boxing Championship for last 15 years, won 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze medals. He was appreciated by all for his wonderful work of taking care of the boy for three days at his house.
