Lodha also said that a Mumbai festival on the lines of the Dubai festival will be organised in November. It is expected to attract one crore people. Therefore, tourism will boost the state’s economy, he added.

Meanwhile, few days ago, Mumbai's 800-year-old Mahim Fort, which was encroached upon since 1970, has been cleared of slums after years of struggle to make it as a tourist attraction. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has demolished the final 267 slums, removing all illegal buildings that were obstructing the fort's restoration.
