Making the decision to move to a new city is never an easy one. However, a recent finding from the Community Spirit Index show which cities are the friendliest and unfriendliest in the world.
Mumbai, one of the most populous and vibrant cities, has landed itself on the list of the least friendly cities globally.
The survey considered six indicators to assess their friendliness. The index, created by Preply, examined 53 cities worldwide.
According to the report, only two Indian cities Mumbai and Delhi made it to the list of the least friendly cities globally. With a friendliness rating of just 3.78 out of 10, Mumbai's lack of hospitality is a matter of concern for individuals planning to relocate. Delhi, with a slightly higher rating of 4.01, did not fare much better. With a mere 3.91 per cent "friendly staff," Mumbai falls short in welcoming experience to non-natives. Delhi saw a slightly lower score of 3.27 per cent.
When comparing Mumbai and Delhi with other least hospitable cities, Accra, Ghana, claimed the title of the least hospitable city worldwide, with a score of 3.12. Marrakech, Morocco, followed closely behind with a rating of 3.69. Moreover, Mumbai and Delhi were joined by Kuala Lumpur and Rio de Janeiro, all sharing the reputation of being not friendly.
Toronto and Sydney claimed the top spots as the nicest cities in the world, with both cities earning a friendliness rating of 7.97 out of 10. These cities excelled in creating a welcoming environment for non-natives and fostering a strong sense of community.
