According to the latest report released by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), Mumbai has paved its way in the list of the 60 safest cities in the world. 

This year’s list also included names of two Indian cities that secured the spot among the top 50.

India’s capital New Delhi landed the 48th spot in the study while Mumbai secured the 50th spot. 

The EIU conducts this survey to determine the safest city in the world every two years.

The EIU has been conducting this survey since 2015, and this is the first time that Copenhagen has topped the list.

During the last study in 2019, Tokyo reserved the top spot as the safest city in the world, followed by Singapore and Osaka at the second and third spots.

The study was based on five key pillars of urban security. It covers five issues: digital, health, infrastructure, personal safety and environmental safety.

Copenhagen scored 82.4 out of 100 points. Toronto secured the second rank with 82.2 points. The city of Karachi in Pakistan is ranked at 59.
