A 14-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide the very next day after she got her first period, as per the report by Indian Express. Though her mother informed that it is "normal", the girl couldn’t handle the "stress", says the family.
The police believes that the girl took the drastic step due to her unawareness and misinformation regarding the menstrual cycle. The police have filed a case of accidental death.

She lived in a chawl in Malad. Her death has reignited a national conversation about period awareness. Her mother informed NDTV that she was under stress and they should have not left her alone. She could not comprehend what was happening to her even though they told her that its normal.
Meanwhile, the cops are recording the statement of the neighbours and will be investigating the matter. They will also be scanning the teenager’s online activities to understand what was she going through.
