Andheri – A radar was installed in Colaba to get more information on weather conditions in the city. Due to highrise buildings in the city, there were hindrances in the functioning of this radar. The Indian Meteorological Department will install second Doppler near Veravali lake. The decision in this regard was taken in a meeting of improvements committee. The city had to suffer severe floods on July 26, 2005. One Atal Behari Dubey had filed a petition in the High Court seeking directions to the BMC in this regard. The court had directed the civic body to install the second Doppler radar after fixing a place for this installation. Accordingly, the IMD has zeroed in on the place near Veravali.
